The CNN data guru has destroyed the numbers of Donald Trump’s “regretting” voters, who claim they are no longer supporting the president – and doesn’t look good for the Democrats.
According to Entten, only two percent of Republicans voters say they would change their voice if a hypothetical rematch between Trump and Kamala Harris will happen tomorrow, with only one percent saying that they will not vote at all soon.
“I want to say this is the big question, right? I hear all these stories, all these articles, all Trump voters, saying they regret what they did in 2024” Entin noted. “I’m here to tell you, very few regrets what they did in 2024”
The data guru, citing a new Yougov poll, said that for all the buyer’s remorse, a repetition of the election last November is likely to end in the same result.
“We only talk with 2%. This is not even a wide place on the road. And then there is this extra 1%who say they prefer not to vote.” In general, less than 5% of Trump’s voters would even consider changing their vote, he explained.
The poll conducted this month also found almost identical levels of loyalty among Harris voters, which suggests that there was no serious swing in both directions in public opinion.
“The bottom line is for all these tales about Trump voters who regret their vote in the numbers, he really doesn’t just show up,” Enter said. “If there is any idea that Trump’s voters are touring, man, I would like to vote for Kamala Harris instead of Donald Trump, the numbers say it’s a fantastic universe. In the biggest part it does not really exist.”
Asked the “stickiness” of Trump’s voters, compared to his first presidency by co-host John Berman, Enter revealed that more Republican voters had a more negative opinion about the president at that moment in 2017 than in 2025.
“In February 2017, four percent of Trump’s voters said they would shift their voice – it’s actually a little more than this time.” So you know, you look back, you say, well, there are these Trump voters who really regret their voice. It’s really not a time to voice, and if something else is. -A little of the issue we saw in 2020, of course, after the events of January 6th.

A similar poll conducted by CBS earlier this month saw that Trump’s popularity had dropped after his catastrophic tariff policy, which Andon said at that time was “the oldest survey that Donald Trump received in his second term.” 54 percent of voters said Trump is responsible for the current economic downturn, and the president’s approval assessments are currently underwater.
But Entin was eager to note that attaching the popularity of two people against each other leads to a different result than to want to judge them isolated – and that the current unpopularity of the president does not turn into the democrats of selection.
He also emphasized the fact that Republicans are currently enjoying a rare lead over Democrats regarding the party’s recognition, with a recent survey putting them on +2% satisfaction.
“If nothing else, the Republican brand may have actually become stronger, though they are in the Error Border, very different from 2017, when the Democrats had an advantage of 5 points,” he explained. “And finally, I will point out that it looks a lot like the general vote trend, which in 2025 seems terrible as November 2024, when the Republicans, of course, won and kept the house.”
